Japan questions, answered

How many nights do you recommend for a first Japan trip?

Nine to twelve nights gives Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka enough breathing room. A focused Tokyo and Kyoto journey can work in six nights, while Hokkaido or Hiroshima deserves additional time.

When should I visit Japan?

Spring blossoms and autumn colour are celebrated but busy. Summer brings festivals, winter suits Hokkaido and onsen travel, and the quieter shoulder weeks often offer excellent value.

Can you arrange trains and luggage forwarding?

Yes. We plan the right rail tickets and seats, transfer timing and luggage forwarding so you can travel between cities with only a day bag where practical.

Are the itineraries in the document customisable?

Yes. Japan Escape, Japan Discovered, Japan Grand Escape and Tokyo Escape are starting points. Cities, hotels, pace and activities can all be adjusted.

How early should experiences be booked?

Popular timed-entry attractions, sumo dates, theme parks and seasonal stays can sell out weeks or months ahead. We recommend planning early for peak blossom, autumn and winter periods.

What support do I get while travelling?

Your curator remains reachable throughout the trip, with assistance for transport changes, weather disruptions or anything unexpected on the ground.
