Malaysia & Singapore Luxury Experience

PlacesKuala LumpurPenangLangkawiSingapore

Kuala Lumpur's Petronas Towers and Batu Caves, Penang's UNESCO-listed George Town and its famous street food, Langkawi's SkyBridge and beaches, then Singapore to finish. An easy, varied loop with short flights between each stop.

Best time to go
December to March is driest on the west coast (Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Langkawi). April to October is warm with afternoon storms; Langkawi is calmer early in the year.
Flying from India
Kuala Lumpur is 4 to 5½ hours non-stop from Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Kolkata. You fly home from Singapore.
Visa for Indian passports
Malaysia is visa-free for Indian passports for up to 30 days until 31 December 2026, with the online Malaysia Digital Arrival Card. Singapore needs a visa through an authorised agent.
Currency
Malaysian ringgit (MYR) and Singapore dollar (SGD). Langkawi is duty-free, so chocolates, perfume and spirits are cheaper.

Malaysia & Singapore at a glance

Kuala Lumpur is a modern capital with old Malay, Chinese and Indian quarters. Two nights is enough for the Petronas Towers, the Batu Caves temple complex north of the city and an evening on Jalan Alor's food street. A one-hour flight takes you to Penang, where George Town's shophouse lanes, clan houses and hawker food earned UNESCO status in 2008.

Langkawi is the island part of the trip: beaches at Tanjung Rhu and Pantai Cenang, mangrove boat trips in the Kilim geoforest park, and the SkyCab up Mount Machinchang to the curved SkyBridge. From there, a short flight to Singapore ends the journey with the Gardens, Marina Bay and a last hawker dinner.

Planning Your Journey

Timing, routing and what our specialists tell every Malaysia & Singapore traveller

When to visit

December to March

Driest months on the west coast and the best sea for Langkawi. Chinese New Year brings festive lights in George Town.

April to October

Hot with short afternoon storms. Thaipusam, in January or February, draws huge crowds to Batu Caves.

Getting there and around

Into Kuala Lumpur

Kuala Lumpur International Airport is about an hour from the city centre by car, or 28 minutes on the KLIA Ekspres train.

Between stops

Kuala Lumpur to Penang and Langkawi to Singapore are one-hour flights; Penang to Langkawi is 30 minutes by air.

Insider notes

Fill in the MDAC

Malaysia's Digital Arrival Card must be submitted online within three days before arrival. Keep the confirmation on your phone.

Penang to Langkawi

Flying takes 30 minutes; the ferry takes about three hours and can be rough. We book the flight unless you want the sea journey.

Dress for Batu Caves

Knees and shoulders must be covered at the temple; sarongs can be hired at the foot of the steps. Watch your bags around the monkeys.

SkyBridge closures

The SkyCab stops in high wind and for annual maintenance. We keep a flexible day in Langkawi so you can move the visit if needed.

Malaysia & Singapore: Common Questions

Not until 31 December 2026, for stays of up to 30 days. You need a passport valid for six months, return tickets, hotel bookings and the online Malaysia Digital Arrival Card. Singapore still needs a visa.
