Bali & Singapore Luxury Experience

PlacesUbudKintamaniSouthern BaliSingaporeSentosa

Five days of temples, rice terraces and volcano views in Bali, then a 2½-hour flight to Singapore for the Gardens, hawker food and a full day on Sentosa. Two very different places that combine easily in one trip.

Best time to go
April to October suits both: Bali's dry season and Singapore's steady 25 to 32°C. November to March brings rain in Bali, usually in afternoon bursts; Singapore is wettest in December and January.
Flying from India
Bali: 6 to 7 hours on the few non-stop services from India where they operate; otherwise 9 to 12 hours with one stop in Singapore, Kuala Lumpur or Bangkok. Bali to Singapore is 2½ hours, and Singapore has non-stop flights home to most Indian metros.
Visa for Indian passports
Bali: Visa on arrival or e-VOA for Indian passports (IDR 500,000, 30 days, extendable once), plus Bali's tourist levy paid online before you fly. Singapore: visa through an authorised agent, plus the free SG Arrival Card.
Currency
Indonesian rupiah (IDR) in Bali, where cash is still useful at markets and temples; Singapore dollar (SGD), with cards accepted almost everywhere.

Bali & Singapore at a glance

Bali comes first, while you are fresh. Base yourself in Ubud for the rice terraces, Tirta Empul's spring-fed pools and a day up to Kintamani, where the crater lake and Mount Batur fill the view. A long driver-guided day takes in Tanah Lot or the water temple at Lake Bratan, and evenings are for Balinese dance or a slow dinner in the hills.

Singapore is the counterpoint: efficient, spotless and easy with children. An orientation day covers Marina Bay, the Merlion and the Gardens' evening light show, a free day is there for shopping or the zoo, and a full day on Sentosa packs in the cable car, the Skyline Luge, the S.E.A. Aquarium and the SkyHelix ride.

Planning Your Journey

Timing, routing and what our specialists tell every Bali & Singapore traveller

When to visit

April to October

Dry, sunny Bali and Singapore's usual heat. July and August are busiest; May, June and September are quieter.

November to March

Bali's green season: short heavy showers, lush terraces and lower villa rates. Singapore's Christmas lights and Chinese New Year fall in this window.

Getting there and around

Into Bali

Flights land at Ngurah Rai airport in Denpasar. Ubud is about 75 minutes by car, Seminyak and Uluwatu 30 to 45 minutes.

Bali to Singapore

A 2½-hour flight to Changi, then 20 minutes by car to Marina Bay. In Singapore, the MRT and taxis cover everything.

Insider notes

Bali first, Singapore last

Ending in Singapore means an easy non-stop flight home and a relaxed final evening, rather than a long connection out of Bali.

Hire a driver, not a self-drive

Bali's roads are narrow and busy. A private driver-guide for full days is good value and lets you stop wherever you like.

Temple dress

A sarong and sash are needed at Bali's temples; most lend them at the entrance. Carry a light scarf for Singapore's temples and mosques too.

Pay the Bali levy before you fly

The tourist levy is paid online and checked on arrival. Keep the QR code on your phone.

Bali & Singapore: Common Questions

Bali first. You arrive rested for the temples and drives, and finish in Singapore with non-stop flights home to most Indian cities.
