Hanoi · Ha Long · Hoi An · Saigon · 10 nights
Ten nights from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City, paced around the days that matter.
Ten nights across four stops: Hanoi for three nights, Ha Long Bay for three, Hoi An for two and Ho Chi Minh City for two. Every transfer between them is private and timed around the day's plan.
The days are built around Old Quarter and the French Quarter, Overnight on the Bay, Ancient Town and War History and Colonial Saigon. Each one is set out below with what you will see, how you get there and which meals are included.
The defining moment of this route: overnight private junk charter on Ha Long Bay. Your travel specialist can add a night, swap a day or change the order before you book.
Moments shaped just for you

The 36 guild streets on foot or by cyclo, the Temple of Literature, Hoa Lo prison and the Opera House quarter, with a water puppet show in the evening.

The mausoleum and stilt house, the One Pillar Pagoda and the Ethnology Museum, with a guided street food walk covering phở, bún chả and egg coffee.

Sailing among nearly 2,000 limestone islands, with kayaking into a lagoon, a cave visit and swimming from the boat. Lan Ha Bay is quieter than the main Ha Long route. Sailings are cancelled in storms.

A tender to Cat Ba island's national park or the floating fishing villages of Lan Ha, with time to swim and cycle.

Yes. Day trips spend most of their time on the road; an overnight lets you kayak, see the bay at sunset and sunrise, and reach quieter areas such as Lan Ha Bay.
Sometimes. The authorities close the trackside cafés from time to time for safety. When it is open we visit at train time with a guide; when it is closed we will not take you in.
Yes, with planning. Buddhist vegetarian restaurants (look for 'chay') are common, and Hoi An and Hue have strong vegetarian traditions. Indian restaurants exist in all big cities.
