Common Questions

Is the Mount Batur trek difficult?+

It is a steady two-hour climb on loose volcanic ground, done in the dark with torches. Anyone with average fitness manages it; the jeep sunrise tour to the crater rim is an easier alternative.

Do we need a visa and the tourist levy?+

Indian passport holders get a visa on arrival or e-VOA for 30 days. Bali also charges a tourist levy per visitor, paid online before arrival. We send both links with your documents.

What should we wear to temples?+

Shoulders covered and a sarong with a sash. Women who are menstruating are asked not to enter temple grounds, a rule the Balinese take seriously.

Is Bali good for children?+

Very. Villas with pools, the Monkey Forest, rafting on the Ayung for children over seven, and gentle beaches at Nusa Dua and Sanur. We avoid villas with unfenced pools for toddlers.

Is tap water safe?+

No. Drink bottled or filtered water, which villas provide, and ice in hotels and good restaurants is made from filtered water.

Do we need travel insurance for activities?+

Yes. Make sure your policy covers quad bikes, scooters if you ride, and water sports; many standard policies exclude them.
