Europe · Escorted Coach
French & Swiss Spirit · 7 nights
Paris's Grandeur. Burgundy's Vineyards. The Heart of the Alps.
This itinerary belongs to a particular European travel tradition, the escorted coach tour, refined over decades, where a small group moves together with one guide. It begins in Paris with three full nights, enough for Versailles, Montmartre, and the Eiffel Tower properly. It then moves overland through Burgundy's vineyard country to Lyon, a UNESCO World Heritage city often skipped by first-time France visitors. The route crosses into Switzerland through Geneva and the Three Lakes region, settling in Zurich for the journey's final, mountain-forward chapters.
Moments shaped just for you

Two very different monuments to power, a few days apart: Versailles's royal excess and Geneva's understated UN headquarters.

Cable car ascent and walk to a suspended bridge high above the valley floor with glacier views in every direction, mountain lunch on the way back down.
The cable car to Fourvière delivers views over the Rhône and Saône rivers and the city's Roman-rooted historic core, UNESCO-listed and less crowded than Paris equivalents.
Lake Geneva and Lake Neuchâtel, connected by vineyard-lined scenic roads, a Switzerland most visitors never see.
Day by day
Transfer to your hotel and collect your tour information at reception. The evening is free.
Visit the Palace of Versailles, wander the artists' streets of Montmartre, and take a panoramic city tour with a local guide; optional cabaret in the evening.
Eiffel Tower second-floor tickets included, then a 75-minute cruise on the Seine. The afternoon is free.
Drive south to Beaune for its medieval Hospices with their glazed-tile roof and its wine museum, then continue to Lyon, a UNESCO World Heritage city. Ride the funicular up to the Basilica of Notre-Dame de Fourvière.
Cross into Switzerland at Geneva for the Palace of Nations, the English Garden and the Jet d'Eau, then drive through the Three Lakes region with a stop in Neuchâtel, arriving in Zurich in the late afternoon.
A guided walk through Zurich, then a cruise of nearly two hours on Lake Zurich to the medieval castle town of Rapperswil, returning by train.
A cable car up into the mountains and a walk to a suspension bridge above the glaciers, with lunch at a mountain restaurant. Afternoon in Lucerne, or an optional full-day trip to Mount Titlis instead.
Breakfast at the hotel, then the journey ends with your transfer to Zurich airport.
An escorted small-group coach tour, travelling alongside other guests with a shared English-speaking guide, a different style from private-transfer itineraries.
Not included in the base package, only the transfer and guided context. We recommend pre-booking entrance tickets and can arrange this in advance.
Depending on logistics, part of the group occasionally overnights in Chambéry, a medieval Savoyard capital, with a morning visit before continuing.
No, guests who prefer not to cross can still enjoy the cable car ascent and mountain views without the bridge walk.
Some people feel breathless or light-headed at 3,000 m and above. Move slowly, drink water and come down if you feel unwell. Speak to your doctor if you have heart or lung conditions.
Yes. It runs between Zermatt and St Moritz in about eight hours. We add it with nights in Zermatt for the Matterhorn.
Meals and drinks cost more than in most of Europe. Train passes, picnic lunches from Coop or Migros and set lunch menus help keep costs down.
