Southeast Asia · Ocean Cruise
Tokyo · Kobe · Busan · Nagasaki · 9 nights
Nine nights on board and ashore, from Tokyo to Nagasaki.
Nine nights by ship, with days ashore at Tokyo, Yokohama, Shimizu, Kobe, Hiroshima, Busan and Nagasaki. Shore days are planned with private guides where shown, and you can always stay on board instead.
The days are built around Tokyo Old and New; Shimizu, for Mount Fuji; Kobe; and Hiroshima and Miyajima. Each one is set out below with what you will see, how you get there and which meals are included.
The defining moment of this route: private ryokan lunch on a shore day in Kobe. Your travel specialist can add a night, swap a day or change the order before you book.
Day by day
Private transfer into the city and an evening walk through Shinjuku or Ginza.
Sensō-ji temple in Asakusa early, the forest shrine of Meiji Jingū and the Shibuya crossing.
A morning in Yokohama's Sankeien garden, then board at the Osanbashi pier and sail at dusk.
Mount Fuji across the bay from the pine groves of Miho no Matsubara, and green tea at a Shizuoka plantation, cloud permitting.
A day in Kyoto, about an hour away, for Kiyomizu-dera and Gion, or stay in Kobe for the Kitano merchant houses and a Kobe beef lunch.
The Peace Memorial Park and Museum, then the ferry to Miyajima's Itsukushima Shrine and its floating torii gate.
The painted hillside village of Gamcheon, the Jagalchi fish market and the seaside temple of Haedong Yonggungsa.
The Peace Park and Atomic Bomb Museum, then Glover Garden above the harbour. The ship stays in port overnight.
The Dejima trading post where the Dutch traded for two centuries, Chinatown, and Oura Church. Farewell dinner on board.
Breakfast on board, then a private transfer to Nagasaki airport for your connecting flight.
Japan offers an eVisa to Indian passport holders resident in India. For the Busan call, we confirm whether the ship's shore-landing arrangements apply to you or a Korean visa is needed, and supply the itinerary for each application.
Spring, from late March to May, and autumn, from October to November, for mild weather and blossom or autumn colour.
Each port call usually runs most of the day. The plan below shows what we arrange in Kobe, Busan and Nagasaki; you can also explore at your own pace.
Three to four months ahead gives the widest choice of rooms and guided days, and more for school holidays, festivals and peak season. Shorter notice is often possible; ask and we will check live availability.
Yes. Every journey is a starting point: add or remove nights, swap a day's plan, change hotels or reorder the route, and your travel specialist re-plans the whole trip around it.
Your quote sets out the deposit that confirms the booking and the date the balance is due. Both depend on the hotels, airlines and guides involved, so they are agreed with you before you pay anything.
