London · Edinburgh · Speyside · 10 nights
Ten nights from London to Speyside, paced around the days that matter.
Ten nights across three stops: London for four nights, Edinburgh for three and Speyside for three. Every transfer between them is private and timed around the day's plan.
The days are built around Royal London and Westminster; Castle Rock and the Old Town; The Malt Whisky Trail; and The Tower, the River and the City. Each one is set out below with what you will see, how you get there and which meals are included.
The defining moment of this route: private single-malt tasting at a family distillery. Your travel specialist can add a night, swap a day or change the order before you book.
Day by day
Arrive at Heathrow, Gatwick or St Pancras International, 45-75 minutes by road into the centre and transfer privately to your base. Time today to walk your neighbourhood and a nearby royal park to shake off the flight.
Westminster Abbey, the exterior of the Houses of Parliament and the Changing of the Guard when it is scheduled, then St James's Park and Whitehall on foot.
The Tower of London and the Crown Jewels early, then a river boat downstream or across to the South Bank, Borough Market and Tate Modern.
The British Museum or the V&A with a guide who takes one collection properly, then Covent Garden, and a West End performance in the evening.
Fly north or take the east coast train line up to Edinburgh Waverley. On arrival, walk the Royal Mile in the evening when the day visitors have thinned.
Edinburgh Castle first thing, then down the Royal Mile through the closes and wynds to Holyrood, with the Scottish Parliament at the foot.
Georgian New Town architecture in the morning, a climb of Arthur's Seat or Calton Hill for the view, and a structured whisky tasting in the afternoon.
Drive north through Perthshire and the Cairngorms to Speyside, about three and a half hours. On arrival, walk the riverbank at Craigellachie before a first dram.
Two distilleries chosen for contrast, one large and one small, with a warehouse tasting drawn straight from the cask and an explanation of how wood shapes spirit.
A stretch of the Speyside Way on foot, with optional salmon fishing on the river, which is Scotland's fastest-flowing and strictly seasonal.
A slow breakfast before the drive to Inverness or Aberdeen. Private transfer to Inverness or Aberdeen airports in good time for your onward flight.
Yes. A UK Standard Visitor visa covers England and Scotland. Apply early, as appointment times vary through the year.
By train from King's Cross, about four and a half hours, arriving in the centre of Edinburgh. A private car takes you on to Speyside.
Many Speyside distilleries welcome children on tours, though age limits vary and tastings are for adults only. We check each distillery for your group.
Three to four months ahead gives the widest choice of rooms and guided days, and more for school holidays, festivals and peak season. Shorter notice is often possible; ask and we will check live availability.
Yes. Every journey is a starting point: add or remove nights, swap a day's plan, change hotels or reorder the route, and your travel specialist re-plans the whole trip around it.
Your quote sets out the deposit that confirms the booking and the date the balance is due. Both depend on the hotels, airlines and guides involved, so they are agreed with you before you pay anything.
