Common Questions

Do Indians need a visa for Mauritius?+

No. Indian passport holders are admitted visa-free for tourist stays of up to 90 days. Carry a return ticket, your hotel confirmation and proof of funds, keep six months on your passport, and fill in the free Mauritius All-in-One Travel Form before you fly.

Is Mauritius good for vegetarians?+

Very. With a large Indian-origin population, vegetarian food is everywhere, from dholl puri on the street to Indian restaurants in every resort area.

When is cyclone season?+

Cyclones can occur from January to March. Most years are unaffected, but we recommend travel insurance and flexible plans in those months.

Is Mauritius suitable for a honeymoon?+

Yes. Villas with private pools, catamaran days, spa treatments and sunset dinners on the beach make it one of the most popular honeymoon islands for Indian couples.

Can we combine Mauritius with another destination?+

Réunion is a 40-minute flight away for volcano hikes, and Dubai makes an easy stopover on the way home.

How far in advance should we book?+

Three to four months ahead gives the widest choice of rooms and guided days, and more for school holidays, festivals and peak season. Shorter notice is often possible; ask and we will check live availability.
