Marrakech · Agafay · Ourika · 5 nights
Five nights from Marrakech to the Ourika Valley, paced around the days that matter.
Five nights across three stops: Marrakech for two nights, Agafay for two and the Ourika Valley for one. Every transfer between them is private and timed around the day's plan.
The days are built around The Medina and the Souks and Stone Desert Days. Each one is set out below with what you will see, how you get there and which meals are included.
The defining moment of this route: hammam ritual after a night in a luxury tent. Your travel specialist can add a night, swap a day or change the order before you book.
Day by day
Arrive at Marrakech Menara airport, about 20 minutes by road to the medina and transfer privately to your base. Time today to walk into the medina towards the Jemaa el-Fnaa as the food stalls are set up.
A guided walk through the souks by trade, the Ben Youssef Madrasa, the Saadian Tombs and the Bahia Palace, ending at the Jemaa el-Fnaa at dusk.
Drive out of Marrakech into the Agafay stone desert. On arrival, watch the sun go down over the hammada with the Atlas behind.
Agafay is rock and dust rather than sand, an hour from Marrakech with the snow-capped Atlas on the horizon: camel or quad, a hammam, and dinner under the stars.
Drive south from Marrakech up the Ourika river. On arrival, walk the river and the terraced gardens as the valley cools.
A valley breakfast before the drive back to the city. Private transfer to Marrakech in good time for your onward flight.

Yes, if you have at least three days. The drive over the Atlas past Aït Benhaddou and the gorges is spectacular, and a night in the dunes is unforgettable. For less time, Agafay's stone desert is close to Marrakech.
Yes, with normal care. Expect attention in the souks; a guide helps. Families are warmly welcomed everywhere.
Yes. Vegetable tagines, couscous, lentil soups, salads and breads are everywhere, and riads cook to order.
Carpets, leather, argan oil and ceramics. Bargaining is expected in the souks; start well below the asking price and stay good-humoured.
Three to four months ahead gives the widest choice of rooms and guided days, and more for school holidays, festivals and peak season. Shorter notice is often possible; ask and we will check live availability.
