Switzerland in Depth · 11 nights
Amsterdam & Paris as Prelude. Switzerland as the Main Act.
Most European itineraries treat Switzerland as a stopover. This itinerary inverts that logic: Amsterdam and Paris get four focused days between them, covering their essentials efficiently. Then a six-day consecutive Swiss Travel Pass takes over, and the itinerary spends real time in the high country: the Jungfraujoch, Mount Titlis, Mount Pilatus, and the lakes and valleys that connect them.
Built for families and groups who have done a fast European tour before and want this one to be different: fewer cities, more depth, a substantial Alpine chapter.
Moments shaped just for you

One of the world's largest flower gardens, over seven million bulbs across 32 hectares. Open mid-March to mid-May only.

3,454m, reached by a rack railway tunnelled through the Eiger and Mönch (completed 1912). Sphinx Observatory, Ice Palace, Aletsch Glacier.

Maximum gradient of 48%. Summit panorama takes in the Lucerne basin and surrounding peaks.
Three versions of the Netherlands in one day: Rotterdam's reconstruction, Delft's pottery tradition, Madurodam's miniature country recreation.
Day by day
Private transfer to your hotel. In the afternoon, visit the Anne Frank House (tickets subject to availability), then walk the canals of the Jordaan.
A full-day shared tour to the Keukenhof tulip gardens (open roughly mid-March to mid-May), the windmills of Zaanse Schans and a canal cruise in Amsterdam.
A day trip to Rotterdam's modern skyline and Cube Houses, Delft's blue-and-white pottery and canals, and Madurodam in The Hague, where the Netherlands is built at 1:25 scale.
High-speed train to Paris in about 3¼ hours. The rest of the day is free to settle in and walk the Seine.
A hop-on hop-off pass around the city, the Arc de Triomphe and the Eiffel Tower to the summit level, finishing with a cruise on the Seine.
A full day at Disneyland Paris with a two-park ticket (Disneyland Park and Walt Disney Studios) and shuttle transfers from central Paris.
TGV to Basel, then onward on your Swiss Travel Pass to Interlaken. Cruise Lake Thun or Lake Brienz in the afternoon, included with the pass.
The cogwheel railway climbs through the Eiger to the Jungfraujoch, Europe's highest railway station at 3,454 m, with views over the Aletsch Glacier, the Ice Palace and the Sphinx terrace.
Scenic train over the Brünig Pass to Lucerne. Walk the old town, the Lion Monument and the Chapel Bridge, and cruise on Lake Lucerne.
Train to Engelberg and the Rotair, the world's first revolving cable car, to the glacier station high on Mount Titlis; ride the Ice Flyer chairlift over the glacier and walk the Cliff Walk.
The world's steepest cogwheel railway, with gradients up to 48%, climbs Mount Pilatus from Alpnachstad (May to November). Return by gondola and cable car to Kriens for a full circuit.
Check out and travel to Zurich airport, about an hour from Lucerne, for your flight home.
Three of Switzerland's most significant mountain excursions, Jungfraujoch, Titlis, Pilatus, each deserve a full day, and additional pass days allow unhurried movement between Interlaken and Lucerne.
Very much so; this exact itinerary was built for a family of three adults and a 15-year-old. Disneyland Paris, mountain excursions, and lake cruises all work well across a wide age range.
Keukenhof operates mid-March to mid-May. If dates fall outside, we substitute additional Amsterdam time or an alternative full-day excursion.
Railway and viewing platforms are wheelchair and mobility-aid accessible, though high altitude (3,454m) can affect those with respiratory or cardiac conditions. Consult a physician before this excursion if relevant.
On a clear day, yes: it is one of the great Alpine experiences. Go early, check the forecast, and spend at least two hours at the top. On a cloudy day, Schilthorn or First may be better value.
If you can only do one, choose the Jungfraujoch for its glacier views. Titlis is best for snow play year-round, and Pilatus for the cogwheel railway and lake views. Most of our itineraries include two.
Some people feel breathless or light-headed at 3,000 m and above. Move slowly, drink water and come down if you feel unwell. Speak to your doctor if you have heart or lung conditions.
