Reykjavík · South Coast · Icelandic Highlands · 8 nights
Eight nights from Reykjavík to the Icelandic Highlands, paced around the days that matter.
Eight nights across three stops: Reykjavík for three nights, Iceland's South Coast for three and the Icelandic Highlands for two. Every transfer between them is private and timed around the day's plan.
The days are built around Reykjavík on Foot, Waterfalls and Black Sand, Super-Jeep to Landmannalaugar and Reykjanes and Geothermal Iceland. Each one is set out below with what you will see, how you get there and which meals are included.
The defining moment of this route: super-jeep run into the highlands with a geologist. Your travel specialist can add a night, swap a day or change the order before you book.
Moments shaped just for you

The old harbour, Hallgrímskirkja tower, the Harpa concert hall and the National Museum, with time for the city's food scene around Grandi.

The Reykjanes peninsula's lava fields, the bridge between continents and a geothermal bathing stop. Volcanic activity here can close roads at short notice, and local guidance is followed on the day.

Seljalandsfoss, which you can walk behind, Skógafoss on the old coastline, and the Reynisfjara black beach. Reynisfjara's sneaker waves are genuinely dangerous; keep well back from the water.

A guided walk with crampons on a Sólheimajökull or Vatnajökull outlet glacier, and from November to March a natural blue ice cave under the ice cap.
Day by day
Arrive at Keflavík International, about 45 minutes by road into the city and transfer privately to your base. Time today to walk Laugavegur and up to Hallgrímskirkja for the view over the coloured roofs.

Follow the Ring Road east along the south shore beneath the ice caps. On arrival, drive east under the glaciers and settle near Vík or Hvolsvöllur.

Turn inland from the south coast towards the volcanoes of Hekla and the highland interior. On arrival, check in at a lodge on the highland edge near Hella and walk out to the Rangá river before dinner.
A guided super-jeep day on the F-roads, which only open from about late June to early September, across lava fields to Landmannalaugar's striped rhyolite mountains. Walk the Laugahraun obsidian lava trail and bathe in the natural hot river by the hut.
A last view of Hekla before the drive back west along the Ring Road. Private transfer to Keflavík in good time for your onward flight.
Only from about late June to early September, when the mountain F-roads open. This journey is planned for that window.
Not in summer; the nights are too light. In return you get near round-the-clock daylight for exploring.
Yes. Iceland is in the Schengen area, so a Schengen visa is required.
Three to four months ahead gives the widest choice of rooms and guided days, and more for school holidays, festivals and peak season. Shorter notice is often possible; ask and we will check live availability.
Yes. Every journey is a starting point: add or remove nights, swap a day's plan, change hotels or reorder the route, and your travel specialist re-plans the whole trip around it.
Your quote sets out the deposit that confirms the booking and the date the balance is due. Both depend on the hotels, airlines and guides involved, so they are agreed with you before you pay anything.
