Bergen · Flåm · Geiranger · 8 nights
Eight nights from Bergen to Geiranger, paced around the days that matter.
Eight nights across three stops: Bergen for three nights, Flåm for three and Geiranger for two. Every transfer between them is private and timed around the day's plan.
The days are built around Bryggen and Mount Fløyen, The Flåm Railway and Nærøyfjord, Geirangerfjord by Boat and Fjord Day from the City. Each one is set out below with what you will see, how you get there and which meals are included.
The defining moment of this route: flåmsbana descent and a silent electric fjord cruise. Your travel specialist can add a night, swap a day or change the order before you book.
Day by day
Arrive at Bergen Flesland, about 30 minutes by road to the harbour and transfer privately to your base. Time today to walk the Bryggen wharf and the fish market before the light goes.
The UNESCO-listed Hanseatic wharf with its wooden alleyways and museum, then the funicular up Fløyen for the view over the seven mountains.
A boat into the Osterfjord and Mostraumen narrows, passing waterfalls and farms only reachable by water.
Travel in on the Bergen Line and the Flåm Railway, or by fjord express boat. On arrival, walk the valley floor at the head of the Aurlandsfjord.
The Flåmsbana climbs 863 metres in 20 kilometres to Myrdal, with the Kjosfossen stop, and the day continues on a boat into the narrow, UNESCO-listed Nærøyfjord.
The Stegastein viewing platform 650 metres above the Aurlandsfjord and the Snow Road over the mountains when it is open in summer.
Drive or sail in through the UNESCO-listed Geirangerfjord. On arrival, walk up to the Flydalsjuvet ledge for the classic view down the fjord.
A sightseeing boat past the Seven Sisters and Bridal Veil waterfalls and the abandoned cliff farms, with a guide explaining how people once lived on those ledges.
A last fjord view before the road climbs out. Private transfer to Ålesund airport in good time for your onward flight.
All year, with the most departures from May to September. The fjord cruises and high mountain roads are best in summer.
Yes. Norway is in the Schengen area, so a Schengen visa is required.
Norway is one of Europe's priciest countries for meals. Breakfast is included throughout; we suggest good-value local restaurants for other meals.
Three to four months ahead gives the widest choice of rooms and guided days, and more for school holidays, festivals and peak season. Shorter notice is often possible; ask and we will check live availability.
Yes. Every journey is a starting point: add or remove nights, swap a day's plan, change hotels or reorder the route, and your travel specialist re-plans the whole trip around it.
Your quote sets out the deposit that confirms the booking and the date the balance is due. Both depend on the hotels, airlines and guides involved, so they are agreed with you before you pay anything.
